Working in another language can affect much more than the words you use. Even when your English is good, it can be harder to contribute in meetings, express an opinion, challenge an idea, build relationships or simply feel like yourself when you're working in a language that isn't your own.
Having lived and worked in Italy for many years, I understand some of the challenges of building a professional life in another country and communicating across cultures.
My Business English coaching combines language development with the confidence to use it. We'll focus on the situations that matter in your working life — whether that's participating more fully in meetings, communicating with colleagues, presenting your ideas, handling difficult conversations or simply feeling more comfortable speaking English at work.
The aim isn't to make you sound like a native speaker. It's to help you communicate clearly, confidently and naturally, so that your English doesn't get in the way of your expertise.
Your sessions
Your sessions are built around you and your work.
We'll work with the material and situations that are relevant to you — perhaps an upcoming presentation, a report you're writing, a meeting you're preparing for, an email that's proving difficult to phrase, a conversation you need to have or simply feeling more comfortable in social situations with colleagues and clients from other countries.
We'll also use your interests and areas of curiosity to make the sessions engaging and enjoyable, because you're much more likely to develop your English when you're talking about things that genuinely interest you.
Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation naturally come into our work whenever they're relevant. Rather than studying them in isolation, we'll work on them in the context of what you're actually trying to communicate.
And if you don't have anything specific you'd like to work on, that's absolutely fine. I can provide materials and ideas based on your level, interests and professional needs.
The focus is always on helping you communicate more confidently and effectively in the situations that matter to you.
